Mark Appleget – Managing Partner

Mark is a veteran of the semiconductor capital equipment business, having worked in both the asset-management and OEM sectors. His specialties lie within the equipment sales spectrum, from sourcing high value semiconductor systems for remarketing to identifying arbitrage opportunities of available assets that could lead to fee-based opportunities, cultivating sales channels to redeploy speculative assets and developing contractual remarketing programs. Mark's professional experience includes Sr. VP of Sales at KeyAssets Financial and Babcock & Brown Electronics Management as OEM sales manager. Over the years, Mark held a wide variety of sales management positions at Hitachi High Technologies and Nissei Sangyo America (which became part of HHT), including several years managing the company's Intel account as well as other high-level accounts such as Motorola, HP/Agilent, IBM and Atmel. Mark has served as a board member of the Surplus Equipment Consortium Network (SEC/N), which eventually became part of SEMI.

 

 

Paul Edstrom – Managing Partner

Paul has been in the semiconductor industry for 35 years, with both manufacturers and financial services companies. He started his technology career at Intel Corporation, moving then to lithography supplier Ultratech Stepper of General Signal. He was involved in the rapid growth of the facility/manufacturing capability of the company, as well as managing the field service group. In 1992, Paul was a founding member of Comdisco Electronics Services where he was responsible for various activities, including equipment trading, technology portfolio development, and equipment valuations. Paul re-joined GE Capital – Global Electronics Services in 2002-2011 as SVP – Chief Technology & Business Development Officer where he built and managed a $4B semiconductor equipment portfolio which yielded over $400MM of gross margins. He joined KeyAssets, a financial services and equipment trading company, as SVP - Technology Investment Manager in 2012-2014, with responsibility principally involved in equipment trading and valuations. In 2014, Paul cofounded B9 Partners, LLC, a firm which exclusively invests in semiconductor equipment trading and related equipment remarketing services to major IC manufacturers.
